The American Cancer Society states that most people with lung cancer do not have symptoms. Therefore, our traditional history of seeking help from a physician when you are feeling ill, is failing patients with this disease. Currently only 15% of lung cancers are caught in the early stages. Four out of five, when found, are incurable. Every year lung cancer kills more people in the United States than breast, prostate and colorectal cancer combined.

A lung scan is included with a full body scan, but may be performed in isolation at your request. The procedure for a lung scan would mimic that of a full body scan, again guaranteeing no invasive procedures, needles, or long waits. At present, Accuscan holds the most sound science for detecting lung abnormalities or cancer. Remember early screening is the ONLY defense against lung cancer. Avail yourself of this opportunity to stay healthy.

The MDCT scan is the gold standard in screening for early lung cancer detection. Whereas traditional x-ray successfully detects tumors the size of a quarter, the MDCT technology discovers tumors the diameter of a straw with startling clarity. Recent studies published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (February 2002) indicate that a comparison of patients whose lung cancer had been detected through x-ray or MDCT, show a remarkable disparity in survival rates. Those relying on MDCT, had survival rates twice that of their counterparts.
